Before learning the methods and precautions related to Helicobacter pylori treatment it is better to explain about Helicobacter pylori, which is commonly known as H- pylori; it is a common type of bacteria often found in human stomach. It has been widely researched that one half of the world’s population have this bacteria in their stomachs although these bacteria may not create any significant adverse effect on most health systems.



But there are exceptions to this situation too. Helicobacter pylori can cause several digestive problems like ulcers etc. and in some instance may stand responsible for development of stomach cancer. However, the involvement of H. pylori for the infection of stomach cancer is still a hypothesis and is not medically proven yet.



Before coming to the point of H. Pylori treatment, it is important to learn the risk factors of these bacteria. Due to H pylori infliction, gastritis and duodenitis are often seen within the patients which may induce pain and discomfort, and irregularity in digestion, problem of acidity, and flatulence etc. which are not healthy and inspiring for leading a quality life; hence due precaution is always recommended. However, contamination spread by Helicobacter Pylori mostly affects children at their below 10 age. Mostly spread by water contamination, this bacterial infection is prevalently seen in developing and under-developing countries.



Although H. Pylori symptoms may vary from one patient to another, the commonest symptoms of Pylori infections are

• Frequent bloating

• Feeling of discomfort and pain in the upper abdominal region

• Regular discomfort in post food consumption time

• Lack of appetite

• Unconditional nausea or vomiting tendency

• Constipation or loose motion

• Tar-colored stool

H Pylori treatment is a long-termed one because it takes long time to cure the complication induced in the health system of the patient. The medications for these bacteria are not fixed and are administered according to the complication of the concerned patients.

There are different compositions of medicines prescribed by the doctors to fight the complications caused by helicobacter pylori. Some of the popular compositions are lansoprazole, pantoprazole, omeprazole, and esomeprazole etc.



It has been often observed that Helicobacter pylori treatment is comprised of certain medications like clarithromycin or metronidazole. A metallic taste is the acute side-effect of these medications. While on these medications, patient should have a check on their boozing habit, if any, otherwise he may start suffering from bothering side-effects like nausea, sweating, palpitation, and skin flushing problem etc.



Certain treatment regimens may cause initially bout of diarrhea and stomach cramping in the patients. During the initial stage of treatment a patient may notice black stool due to the presence of Bismuth in medicines.



There are several instances where the Helicobacter pylori treatment remains incomplete in its first course. In these cases a second course is recommended. The treatment should be done under the supervision of a professional medical practitioner.
